A metal detector has become the most deadly weapon in modern warfare, and that means you should be armed with one, experts say.
The American Civil Liberties Union said the device was widely used by police and security forces around the world.
It has been used in the US since 2003, and was used to search and seize suspects in the case of two Florida teenagers accused of stealing a truck in March, the Washington Post reported.
They were later found guilty and sentenced to 30 days in jail, according to the paper.
Police in California, Texas, Georgia and California are also using metal detectors, with the police department in California using them in recent months.
“This is the ultimate weapon in this war on terror,” said Chris Calabrese, a lawyer who represented one of the suspects in a lawsuit against the California police department.
“The technology is so effective, it can go to every corner of a country and there’s no accountability.
That’s why we have to have this device,” he said.
The device is not cheap.
In New York, for example, the cost of the metal detector was $12,000, according the Associated Press.
In a report on the subject, the AP found that the devices were being bought by private companies in the United States, which is where the technology is being made.
The metal detectors have become the preferred weapon for police and military forces around Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia, the report found.
They have been used to investigate the murder of a man in Austria in April, and to search for explosives in the London subway station in March.
They also have been the subject of a series of police incidents in the UK, including a shootout that left two people dead in 2015 and the arrest of a suspect in Scotland in 2016.
