Posted by NHL on June 17, 2019 07:07:51 Steelhead frontman and guitarist Andrew Dickey will be working with longtime friend and longtime collaborator Chris Thile on his new album.
The announcement was made in a tweet by Thile that was followed by an update on the band on Twitter.
“I’m really excited to be working on a new record with Andrew and Chris, who I’m so proud to have as a partner,” Thile wrote.
“They’re both a fantastic band and have helped me get where I am in my career.
I’ve spent years working with a lot of great bands, but I’m really happy to be able to get this new record off the ground with them.
It’s going to be amazing!”
Dickey, who formed the band in 2015, told theScore he was a big fan of Steelhead’s music and the band he helped form.
“Steelhead’s songs were so important to me growing up,” he said.
“It’s like a big part of who I am, and I just want to share that with you.
It really is a special band to me.
It was one of the first bands I listened to and I fell in love with them in a way that I haven’t had since I was in my early teens.”
Thile told the Score he wanted to explore different styles and influences on his next project.
“There are things I can play off of a band like Steelhead, and there are things that I want to explore that I think I’ve never done before,” he told the score.
“I’m going to play songs that I’ve written over the years, or songs that are really interesting for me and I want the band to hear.
I think it’s a great chance for us to explore something that has never been done before.”
